Fujifilm's UV Scale is a measuring foil for the analysis of the UV light acting on a specific surface.
Functionality of UV Scale Film
In order to determine the quantity and distribution of UV light, the foil is placed at the location to be measured and irradiated with UV light. On the polyester-based measuring foil layers of microcapsules with a colouring material are applied, which reacts by the influence of UV light and produces lighter or darker bluish colour surfaces on the foil carrier according to the intensity.
The product portfolio consists of three differently sensitive measuring foils, which are divided into two types based on the applied technology.
Low UV exposure without reduction filter (1 type)
- The single-layer film contains color-filled microcapsules and a developer on the UV Scale film.
Medium and high UV light exposure with reduction filters (2 types)
- In the two-layer version, a UV-light-reducing filter lies above the UV Scale film.
An analysis can be performed visually or by means of a digital evaluation system consisting of the FUD-7010E software and a scanner.
